HCB, HomeOwnership Center and RCHA Offer Free Finanicial Education Program

Sep 30, 2021

The Randolph County Housing Authority, Highland Community Builders, and the Homeownership Center are offering free financial coaching to residents of Randolph, Tucker, Barbour, Upshur, Lewis, and Webster counties through the North Central Financial Opportunity Center.

The program, funded in part by the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation and Rural Lisc, is designed to teach individuals how to better manage their own personal finances and build credit. Participants in the program receive financial coaching such as saving, credit building, and budgeting techniques; guidance from an Income Support Specialist; and access to employment coaching including information on job search strategies, improving interviewing skills, and opportunities to meet potential employers.

“Because of our organizations, we saw a real need for this financial education. And it really models what we do in all of our organizations and that’s helping the whole person or the whole family become the best that they can possibly be,” said Jennifer Griggs, Program and Grant Manager for the Randolph County Housing Authority.

If you know someone who would like more information about the Financial Opportunity Center, contact RCHA at 304-636-6495, ext 30 or email Lexi Taylor at [email protected].
